Hubert J. Smitty Smith

Hubert J. “Smitty” Smith, 81, of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1928 in Weston, West Virginia, son of the late Hubert and Macel Cochran Smith. Hubert was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was also a mail carrier and former member of VFW #4464. Surviving him are his daughters, Patricia Harry Hill of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, Sally Lester Krum of Grove City, Ohio and Brenda Smith of Gallipolis; Eight Grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Stacey, Crystal, Jeremy, Amy, Misty and Brian; Fifteen Great Grandchildren; Three Sisters; Several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Oldaker officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
