Iva Elizabeth Myers

Our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Iva Elizabeth Myers, 79, of Vinton, Ohio entered into God’s Kingdom peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by family.

Iva was born on May 23, 1945, in Gallia County, Ohio, the daughter of the late William R. and Dorothy Younger Clonch.

Iva was a homemaker whose life was dedicated to nurturing her children and grandchildren, always prioritizing their well-being with a heart overflowing with kindness and compassion. She treasured every moment with her family. Her deep devotion to her faith shone through in every aspect of her life, inspiring those around her with her unwavering belief in God's grace. She loved spending time outside on the porch sitting, listening to the wind chimes, and feeling the warm breeze in her hair. She also enjoyed playing cards or taking walks. She was a valued member of Vinton Baptist Church and a volunteer at Field of Hope, where she helped with the food bank.

Iva was married to Carl E. Myers; and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, Iva was preceded in death by a daughter, Corinia E. Myers Wooten; a son, Carl L. Myers; granddaughters, Tonia Maria Myers and Elizabeth Arena Myers; a son-in-law, John L. Glover; four brothers, Charles Jr. Bush, William Bush, Richard L. Clonch, and Herbert Clonch; and three sisters, Opal Martin, Alta Riedel, and Mary Nibert.

Iva is survived by two daughters, Teresa Glover of Petersburg, Virginia and Mary (Rick) Greene of Vinton; one son, Robert "Yogi" (Leslie) Myers of Midlothian, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Faye Myers of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Kasee, Nancy Caldwell, and Dorothy Wills all of Gallipolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Iva will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Her burial will follow in Campaign Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
