Glen Monk McGuire, 61, of Gallipolis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Holzer Medical Center. Glen was born on September 25, 1950 in Gallipolis to the late Marvin and Edith Taylor McGuire. He had formerly worked at Scenic Hills Care Center and was currently an independent paper carrier for the Gallipolis Daily Tribune. Glen was married to Juanita Kitchen McGuire on December 21, 2001 and she survives him in Gallipolis, along with his children Edith (Daniel) Shafer of Crown City, Jeremiah (Casie) McGuire of Crown City, Amanda (Jimmy) Cooper of Bidwell and Dakotah Fletcher of Gallipolis, Grandchildren Nathan McGuire, Jeremiah McGuire, Braydon McGuire, Lucas McGuire, Haylie Beaver, Nathaniel Beaver, Isabella Shafer, Levi Shafer, Issac Shafer, Lethanial Shafer, Isaiah Cooper and Jennifer Cooper, Sisters Dorothy Walker of Gallipolis, Marjorie (Earl) Holley of Crown City, Marcella Moss of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Hazel Spurlock of Circleville, Ohio, one brother Wayne (Rita) McGuire of Crown City. Glen was preceded in death by a granddaughter Mickaela McGuire, his parents, four brothers, Ray, Norman, Lonnie and Frank, and by a sister Brenda Kay McGuire. Services will be 11 am Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Haley officiating, burial will follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery.
