James "Buck" Cox

James “Buck” Cox, 64, of Gallipolis, Ohio, sadly passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Hospital.  Buck was born on January 8, 1958 in Gallipolis, Ohio.  He retired from Waste Management Company.

Buck was married to Hazel Cox in 1986.  He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann Shaver of Gallipolis; two daughters, Ruby Cumpton of Gallipolis and Tracy Mazza of Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia; sister, Nickie (Gene) Facemire of Gallipolis; brother, Rick Porter of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Taylor Nunn of Gallipolis, Bryant Sturgill of Ashland, Kentucky, Kaylee Sturgill of Gallipolis, Kylen Deskins of Gallipolis Ferry, Ceyonah Ferguson of Gallipolis, and Dessy Perry of Point Pleasant, West Virginia.  Buck also had a good friend who was like his brother, Roger Rutherford of Gallipolis.

Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Cox and two sons, Timothy Cox and Guy Ferguson.

Buck was adored by many friends and family.  He always had a smile and a joke for everyone he knew and never met a stranger.  His beautiful soul will truly be missed.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
