James H. Holley

James H. Holley, 78, of the Evergreen Community, Bidwell, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born on October 3, 1929 in Mason County, West Virginia to the late Charles W. and Verne Holley. James was married to Anita Hudkins Holley and she survives him. He was retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center and was a retired salesman for Turnpike Ford. James was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher, a deacon and trustee. He was also a member of Morning Dawn Masonic Lodge and was an avid hunter, fisherman, gunsmith and trapper. He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Anita Holley of Bidwell; a daughter, Carla L. Case of Gallipolis; five grandchildren, Dakota Case, Joushua Case, Cecelia Case, Natasha Noteboom, and Jacob Holley; one great grandson, Anthony Noteboom; one sister, Faye Myers of Columbus; several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James F. Holley in 1991, a sister, Mae Clark, and two brothers, Denville Holley and David Holley. Services will be 1 p.m, Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rio Grande with Pastor Vinton Rankin officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, January 11, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home.
