James Addison Odum Iii

James Addison Odum III, 42, of Chillicothe, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 2, 1971 in Huntington, West Virginia, beloved son of the late Drema Susan Jacobowski Bleitz and James Addison Odum Jr., who survives him. James was the beloved husband of Evelyn Moore, whom he married on January 16, 2011 and she also survives. He was a 1989 graduate of Manatee High School, Bradenton, Florida and was also in the U.S. Navy from January, 1992 – June, 1998 as an Electronics Technician/Naval Nuclear Reactor Operator. James was a graduate of the University of Rio Grande, with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing in May, 2011. He was a Psych RN at Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare in Athens, Ohio. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by stepmother, Carole Odum of Huntington, WV; father-in-law, Darrell R. Moore of Chillicothe; stepsisters, Nancy (Scott) Sheets and Family and Cathy (Andy) Ritchie and Family, all of Harrisonburg, Virginia; aunt and uncle, JoAnn and Jerry Aldrich of Wilmington, Delaware; and cousins, Tom and Shirly Aldrich of Las Vegas, Nevada, David and Stephanie Aldrich of Knoxville, Tennessee, Samantha and John Marshall of Texas. Services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with David Aldrich officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Military services will be provided by volunteers of local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in James’ memory to the American Heart Association.
