John Thomas Bryant

John Thomas J.T. Bryant, 85, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at his residence. He was born on May 14, 1924 in Logan County, West Virginia to the late John and Tollie Stowers Bryant. J.T. was a coal miner and the owner operator of Bryant Trucking. He loved gardening, mules and horses, fishing, and most of all telling stories so all could enjoy. He will be missed by a host of family and friends. He was married to Oleva Gaie Hainor Bryant on November 14, 1942 in Logan, West Virginia and she survives him along with five sons, Gary, Dale Sherry, Steve, Greg Cindy and Michael Polly; 11 grandchildren Robert Gina, Joe Vicky, Chris Rachael, Brad Cathy, Todd, Bethany Brian, Danielle, Callie, Jamie Chris Smith, Jennifer, and Eric Bowcott; 13 Great Grandchildren Whesley, Jeffrey, Kyle, Kaci, Hailee, Adrianna, Darian, Makayla, Sydney, Wilson, Jacy, Jovi and Lindsey. He was in the middle of nine children, Opal, Fred, Charlie, Vada, Kyle, Troy, Rex and George. All have preceded him death except his brother George Betty who live in St. Cloud, Florida. Also surviving is a sister-in-law: Mary Rose Bryant Marcum in West Virginia and his constant companion and best buddy Quincey. A Grandson Shawn Maynard preceded him death. Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday August 24, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-9 pm.
