John Sommer Caufman, Jr.

John Sommer Caufman, Jr., 73, of Batavia, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Hospice of Cincinnati. John was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School, attended Ohio University, and was in the U.S. Navy. John worked for IBM for 30 years. He was born on December 31, 1935 in Gallipolis, son of the late Ada Jean Roach Caufman and John S. Caufman, Sr. John is survived by his wife Naomi Moss Caufman of Batavia, one son David Caufman of Batavia, two daughters Karen Shetler of Virginia Beach, VA, and Susan Mitchell of Milford, Ohio; three grandchildren Michael Shetler, Dustin Mitchell and Nicole Mitchell, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Richard L. Caufman. Services will be 11 am Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Townsend officiating.
