John L. Sigman, Sr.

John Leonard Sigman, Sr. passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at Abbyshire Nursing Center in Gallipolis, Ohio at the age of 74. John was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mary Sigman, and his wife Lorene “Shirley” Sigman. He is survived by his children, John (Amanda) Sigman and Randy (Melissa) Sigman; grandchildren, Whitley Sigman, Erica (Adam) Massie, Megan Clark, Courtney (Ryan) Edwards, Travis Sigman, Colton Sigman, Tyler Blackburn, Carly Sigman, Taylor Mathie, and Brandon Booth; and great grandchildren, Paige, Owen, and Damien Myers, Payton, Wyatt, and Clay Massie, and Nova and Evelyn Blackburn. John was born on December 3, 1947, in Cheshire, Ohio to Elmer and Mary Sigman. He graduated from Kyger Creek High School, Class of 1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Parsons on July 8, 1966. He worked for and retired from Southern Ohio Coal and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. John’s children and grandchildren remember him as a loving, sweet, and respectable man. Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home.
