Julia Roese

Julia (Julie) Carpenter Roese, 81, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Holzer Senior Care Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born December 8, 1931 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Floyd and Lucy Mossbarger Carpenter. Julie was married to Alex Roese Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of Gallia Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Alex “Ray” (Elisa) Roese Jr. of the Phillipines and Steve (Angie) Roese of North Port, Florida; a daughter, Kathy Roese of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters, Nora (Victor) Burgess of Gallipolis, Goldie Bell of Columbus, Martha Kite and Ethel (Ed) Price, all of Vinton; two brothers, Frank Carpenter of Oak Hill and George (Laura) Carpenter of Patriot; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Alex Roese Sr., Julie was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Roese, two brothers, Fred and Elmer and two sisters, Margaret and Estella. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Gallia Baptist Church with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in the Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home.
