Katherine Plymale

Katherine Plymale, 94, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Holzer Medical Center.

Born on May 25, 1929 in Charleston, West Virginia, Katherine was the daughter of the late Marvin and Stella Campbell Flowers.  Katherine was married to Eugene “Gene” Plymale, who preceded her in death.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Katherine was preceded in death by four brothers, John E. Flowers, Paul Flowers, Calvin Flowers, and Charles Flowers; one sister, Mary Casto; and a son-in-law, Robert Snoddy.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.  Katherine enjoyed baking and sewing; she was an excellent seamstress.

Katherine is survived by her children, Karen (Randy) Jerwa of Gallipolis, Ohio; Steven (Heidi) Edwards of Collins, Georgia, and Sandra Snoddy of Fort Mill, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Vickie (Mike) Smoot of Fort Mille, SC, Bill (Linda) Snoddy of Gastonia, NC, Brandon Jerwa of Los Angeles, CA, Julie (Greg) Dilley of Columbus, OH, Heather Caisse of Providence, RI, J’enay (Ryan) Buell of Scottsdale, AZ, Kami Edwards of Mandeville, LA, Chrissy Edwards of Mandeville, LA, Joseph Jerwa of Gallipolis, OH, Christopher Smith of Dover, NH, and Gretchen Edwards of Collins, GA; and thirteen great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Katherine will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Ann Moody officiating.  Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call prior to the service Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Katherine’s name to Holzer Hospice, 100 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
