Kevin Thomas Hoffman, 59, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia passed away at 12:30 a.m. on January 5, 2022 at Worthington Healthcare Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia after a nearly six year long battle with cancer. Kevin was born on September 30, 1962 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late William H. and Nora Alyce Henry Hoffman. Kevin was a 1980 graduate of Gallia Academy High School and also an accounting and auditing student at the University of Rio Grande. He also worked as a union laborer for Meridian Automotive Systems, and then as a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers. Kevin also delivered papers for the Daily sentinel. Kevin is survived by his only daughter, Kayla Dawn Hoffman (Andrew Halley) of Rutland, Ohio and four grandchildren, Gabriel Masters, Dylan Masters, Braxton Masters, and Garrett Masters. He is also survived by three sisters, Karen (Benjamin) Smith, Linda Lauener, and Joyce (Bernard) Murphy; two brothers, Jack (Linda) Hoffman and Bill (Carolyn) Hoffman, four nieces; and five nephews. In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Gracelyn Hope Halley. Kevin faced his cancer head-on with no fear and was an inspiration to all around him, maintaining an upbeat and always a positive outlook. He was extremely strong and always willing to one more surgery or one more chemo session if it meant he would have a little more time with his daughter and beloved grandkids. He was a devoted father and an even more devoted grandfather to his grandchildren. A memorial Service for Kevin will be announced at a later date.
