Kimberly J. (Allen) Stout

Kimberly J. (Allen) Stout, 64, of Rio Grande, Ohio passed away peacefully after a courageous 18-year battle with cancer on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends.

Born on January 26, 1958 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Kim was the daughter of the late Robert W. “Bob” and Barbara Crabtree Allen.  Kim married Richard Stout, who survives her in Rio Grande.  She graduated from Gallia Academy High School Class of 1976, earned her ASN from the University of Rio Grande, and earned her BSN from Ohio University.  Kim was a registered nurse for over 35 years with Holzer Medical Center and had been a clinical nursing instructor at the University of Rio Grande. She was a member of Simpson Chapel in Rio Grande.

Kim is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Richard Stout; sons, Travus (Megan) Stout of Jackson, Ohio and David Stout (Whitney Gealy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandsons, Dylan Reed Stout and Tucker Allen Stout; sisters, Karen (Deryl) Jones and Kristen (Ernie) Day all of Rio Grande; sisters-in-law, Darlene Halley of Gallipolis, Debbie Williams of Charleston, South Carolina, Denise (Pete) Barry of Rio Grande, Carolyn (Walter) Loveday of Bidwell, Ohio, and Angela (A.J.) Owens of Rio Grande; several nieces and nephews; devoted and loving friends, Doris and Roy Wilkins; special friends and co-workers; and her favorite four-legged friend, Eleanor.

The funeral service for Kim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home.  Honors will be given at the service by the Nurse Honor Guard of the Ohio Valley.  Burial will follow in Tyn Rhos Cemetery, Thurman, Ohio.  Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the funeral home.
