Leona E. Drummond

Leona E. Drummond, 84, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born on September 21, 1923 in Cabell County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Ora and Ida May Porter Lucas. Leona retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center in 1977 as a nursing associate. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Ellen William Russell of Bidwell and Bonnie Williams of Gallipolis; two sons, Bob Diana Drummond of Gallipolis and C. Keith Connie Drummond of Cheshire; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one sister, Ima Kingery of Gallipolis. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Susan Ann Russell, two sisters, Ruth Greene and Layunie Hutchinson and three brothers, Vernon, Farrice and Elvis Lucas. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Curry and Pastor Steve Little officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery.
