Lewis W. Sturgeon, 45, of Crown City, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at the emergency room at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born on December 5, 1962 in Mason County, WV to Lewis Sturgeon and the late Maxine Ellen Fielder Sturgeon. Lewis was a self-employed truck driver hauling for Besil Transport in Ravenswood, WV. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Hively Sturgeon of Crown City; one son, Kenny Sturgeon and one daughter, Alison Sturgeon, both of Crown City; his father, Lewis Sturgeon of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; one brother, David Bonnie Sturgeon of Gallipolis Ferry; three sisters, Delva Diane Newhouse of Virginia, Sonya Sturgeon of Georgia and Gereta Sturgeon of Cleveland; three nephews, Brian, John and Joshua and one great nephew, John Wayne Sturgeon, all of Gallia County. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Ellen Sturgeon and by one brother, John Sturgeon. Services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Geiser officiating. Burial and committal services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at Okey Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Johnny Sturgeon, Brian Sturgeon, Timmy Caldwell, Roy Daniels, Kevin Swain, Ike Hively, Brian Hively, John Cardwell and Tony Nolan. Family and friends will meet at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church on Teens Run following the burial and committal services on Wednesday.
