Lillian E. (Holcomb) Saunders, 95, of Gallipolis, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at her home. Lillian was born October 15, 1917 in Gallia County, the daughter of the late Elmer and Myrtle Shaw Holcomb. Lillian retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center after 30 years of service and attended Gallipolis First Church of God. Surviving are her daughter, Crystal (Larry) Sheets of Gallipolis; a son, Kenard (Dianna) Saunders of Ashville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alan (Tami) Sheets of Gallipolis, Leesa (Keith) Clark of Thurman, Kendra (Grant) Reveal of Westerville, Mitchel Saunders of Canal Winchester, and Kyle (Joseph) Morris of Pickerington; 10 great grandchildren, Krisha Sheets, Cody (Samantha) Sheets, Alyssa (Curt) Waugh, Dustin Sheets, Darren (Biranda) Clark, Alexis Clark, Kayla Reveal, Colton Saunders, Mason Saunders and Taylor Morris; five great great grandchildren, Michael, Kylar, Kynleigh, Trinity, Chesnee; one sister, Annabelle (Bob) Caldwell of Wellston; one brother, Lee (Alice) Holcomb of Gallipolis; sisters-in-law: Barbara Holcomb of Georgia, Helen Holcomb of Texas, Phyllis Holcomb of West Jefferson; a special friend, Dottie Locke of Gallipolis; faithful caregivers, Donna Stewart and Alta Riedel; also several family and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Karen Sue Saunders in infancy, three brothers John, Wesley and Clyde Holcomb and a sister, Frances Holcomb. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral. The grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
