Lionel Ray Connelley

Lionel Ray Connelley, 69, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his residence. Ray was born on December 25, 1938 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Ruby Jenkins and William Elsey Connelley. He was a retired pipe-fitter with Local 521 in Huntington, West Virginia, a member of Fellowship Baptist Church; a member of the Masonic Lodge in Salyersville, and served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. Ray was preceded in death by a son Scott LaMar Connelley on December 6, 1987 and by his mother Ruby Jenkins. Ray is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Twyllia Yvonne and Brian Jay of Gallipolis, two grandchildren Madisyn Noelle Jay and Noah Jacob Jay; his father and step mother William Elsey Connelley and Luva Connelley of Salyersville, KY; his former wife Wanda Jean Connelley of Gallipolis, five half sisters Pat Mike Lafano of Phoenix, AZ; Linda Marvin Wireman of Laporte, IN; Sandra Dug Slusher of Indiana; MaDonna Mike Adams and Marci David Kazee both of Salyersville, KY. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastors Philip Walker and Joseph Godwin officiating with burial following in the Reynolds Cemetery in Addison. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 5-8 pm. Full military graveside rites will be provided by volunteers of area veterans lodges.
