Loren E. Layne

Loren E. Layne, 89, of Crown City, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born August 8, 1924 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Sherman and Virgie Halley Layne. Loren was married to Jane Ann Neal on January 19, 1951 in Gallipolis, Ohio and she survives him. He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center and was a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Jane Ann Layne of Crown City; two sisters, Rose (Roger) James of Gallipolis and Betty Harless of Lexington Park, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews survive. In addition to his parents, Loren was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Henry and Mack and one sister, Helen Halley. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Kings Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. There will be military services at the graveside.
