Mabel M. Phillips

She was born April 23, 1922 in Morgantown, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jesse and Dora Mae Slate Hoover. She married Andrew R. Phillips and he preceded her in death. Mabel was a homemaker. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are her seven children, Nancy Mooney of Crown City, Jeanette Pauley of Kenova, WV, Wilma Jean Lemley of Ft. Knox, KY, Robert (Shirley) Phillips of Crown City, Ronnie (Sharon) Phillips of Chesapeake, Richard (Trina) Phillips of Proctorville and Randy (Loretta Heck) Phillips of Crown City; 13 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great Grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Meeham of Delaware, Ohio and Emogene Rowe of Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Andrew Phillips, Mabel was preceded in death by a daughter Eloise Phillips, a granddaughter Donna Wells, four brothers- Everette, Jesse Jr., Herbert and Donald Hoover, and two sisters – Analee Birchfield and Lucille Oldaker. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
