Maggie Lou Plants, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Holzer Medical Center. Born on May 17, 1939 in Floyd County, Kentucky, Maggie was the daughter of the late John and Cora Murphy Weddington. On July 9, 1979, Maggie married Gilbert R. Plants, who survives her in Gallipolis. Maggie was a former telephone operator and a member of Paintsville Baptist Church. Maggie is survived by her husband, Gilbert Plants of Gallipolis; son, Gregory Keith (Mary Jo) Belcher of Louisa, Kentucky; stepdaughter, Tamara Lynn Plants of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, and Brett; step grandchildren, Olivia and Jon; step great grandchildren, Maddilyn and Finlee; and brother, Arnold Weddington of Wyandotte, Michigan. In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her brother Charlie Weddington; sisters, Irene and Bonnie; brother in infancy, Ulen and sister in infancy, Shirley; and step grandson, Tyler. A Memorial Service for Maggie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. There will be additional services on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Paintsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Seth Carter officiating.
