Mamie Garnet Dillon, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at her home in Gallipolis. She left this world the same way she lived her life, with a love for her family and a peaceful spirit. At the death of her first husband, Garnet, at the age of 39, was left to care for her five children. She had always been a stay-at-home mom, but she went to Gallipolis Business College, got a job, provided for her children, and lived to see them all become successful. Garnet was also a talented and gifted lady, and her family is left with numerous quilts, paintings, woven baskets, cross stitch pictures, crocheted doilies and afghans, knitted Christmas stockings, and many other items to remember her by. She practiced her Christian faith, prayed daily for her loved ones, and is now in Heaven with her Savior. Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery at Mercerville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, September 14, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
