Marcella Graves Houck

Marcella Graves Houck, 90, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Abbyshire Place, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born April 26, 1922 in Scott County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Robert P. and Carrie Lois Lynn Crupper. She married Noah Dale Houck on November 25, 1977 in Georgetown, Kentucky and he survives her. Marcella worked at JC Penney’s in Georgetown, Kentucky and volunteered at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio as one of the Grayladies. She was a member of First Church of God of Gallipolis and was active in WCG. Surviving are her husband, Noah Dale Houck of Gallipolis; two daughters, Sheila (William) Dawson of Georgetown, Kentucky and Deborah (Jeff) Rhodes of Gallipolis, Ohio; one son, Keith Allen (Patsy) Houck of Rosehill, Virginia; three grandchildren, Annette (Chuck) Boyles of Raceland, Kentucky, Deanna (Justin) Stead of Commerce, Texas and Bruce (Mary) Houck of Ewing, Virginia; six great grandchildren, Tyler Boyles, Tayloir Rose, Tanner Rose, Joshua and Jacob Stead, Theodore Houck; one sister, Christine Bates of Anderson, Indiana; and special friends Joyce and Mike Harrington of Gallipolis, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reuben Graves in 1976, her stepmother who raised her Nell Crupper, one brother Robert Crupper Jr. and one sister Geraldine Bates. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the First Church of God in Gallipolis with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Kentucky. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Church of God in Gallipolis. Pallbearers will be Mike Harrington, Butch Wright, Tyler Boyles, Tanner Rose, Ed Sanders, and Marlin Haner. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Abbyshire Place. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Marcella’s memory to The WCG of First Church of God, 1723 State Rt. 141, Gallipolis, OH 45631. Willis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
