Margaret Pearl Burnette

Margaret Pearl Burnette, 84, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Holzer Senior Care Center. She was born March 21, 1924 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Fred and Ella Mae O'Dell Northup. Pearl retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center where she had been a nurse's aid for 24 years. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Gallia County Senior Citizens. She sang in the Old Thyme Chorus, enjoyed traveling and reading, and was active in activities at the Holzer Senior Care Center, where she served on the Senior Care Council. Surviving are two daughters, Kathy John Thomas and Karen Larry Clark, both of Gallipolis; two sons, Ronnie 'Rono' Burnett of Gallipolis and Roger Burnett of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Pam Burnett of Springfield; grandchildren, Jason Laura Thomas of Gallipolis, Kristi Dan Charbonneau of Johnstown, Colorado, Stacy Kevin Cremeens and Mendi Bryan Carter, both of Gallipolis, Amber Tony Foreman of Springfield, Sean Amy Kelly of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Greg Derham of Beavercreek, Ohio; a step granddaughter, Teresa Steve Dunfee of Pomeroy and fifteen great grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Autumn Burnett Derham, two brothers, O'Dell Northup and Paul Northup, and two sisters, Mildred Harrison and Ruth Northup. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Benson and Pastor Marc Sarrett officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jason Thomas, Sean Kelly, Bryan Carter, Kevin Cremeens, Tony Foreman and Greg Derham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanley Harrison, Jeff Northup, Gary Northup, and John Elmer Harrison.
