Marion E. Caldwell

Marion E. Caldwell, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He attended the First Church of God for 62 years. He was a mill operator with Kaiser Aluminum for 13 years, a banker with Ohio Valley Bank for 11 years, the Green Township Clerk for 22 years, and a life-long cattleman and retired farmer. Marion was also very involved in his community. He was the 4-H club advisor, on the fair board for Gallia County Jr. Fair, a Conservation Club member, member of the Ohio Cattlemen Association, member and grower for the Gallia County Tobacco committee, participated in the five year demonstration farm for Ohio State Cooperative Extension, and many other projects. Marion was a quick-witted, fun loving, sweet, kind, and generous man who absolutely adored his family. Everyone who knew him loved him immeasurably. Marion enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and watching sports. He was born on April 18, 1939 in Gallia County, son of the late Morton and Elma Daniels Caldwell. Marion was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Sheets Caldwell on June 7, 1958; and she survives him, along with two son, Randall E. (Beth) Caldwell and Gary T. (Sarah) Caldwell; grandchildren, Whitnee (Kyle) Molidor, Chase Caldwell, Amber (Justin) Cavender, Josh (Natalie) Pauley, and Michael (Wendy) Black; great grandchildren, Landon Molidor, Layla Jordan, Easton Cavender, Amelia Black, Madison Black, and Zach Black; siblings, Judy (Larry) Hall, Rita (Tom) Myers, Vicki (Wayne) Elliott, Mike (Martha) Caldwell, and Cindy Cremeans; brother-in-law, Danny Stidham; sisters-in-law, Nelda Caldwell and Shelba Lanning; in-laws, Larry (Crystal) Sheets and Sharon (Jeff) Steele; and numerous other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Farrell “Sonny” Caldwell, Phyllis Stidham, Gilbert Caldwell, Earl Caldwell, and Doris Fulks; daughter-in-law, Melanie Caldwell; and brothers-in-law, Ross Fulks and Mark Cremeans. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
