Mark Phillips

Mark Phillips, 58, of Aurora, Illinois, formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. Mark was born on September 6, 1963 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Jane Ann Champer Phillips and David L. Phillips.

Mark’s appetite for life was only exceeded by his love for people. He was an athletic and scholastic standout at Gallia Academy High School, graduating in the class of 1981. Mark attended multiple colleges, graduating from Roosevelt University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Mark was employed by Hyzon Motors in Bolingbrook, Illinois where he was a senior accountant and a valued team member.

Mark had strong roots in the Gallipolis Community and is survived by his brother, Jeff (Mandy) Phillips and his sister, Samantha Phillips; nephew, Thomas "TJ" (Enedina) Phillips; and great nieces, Isabella, and Arrianna.  His extended family members include the Simpson, Champer, and Woodyard families. Mark will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life and Time of Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Sharing of memories will begin at 1:30 p.m. Please wear Ohio State Buckeye Clothing or your favorite sports team apparel to the celebration of Mark's life.  Following the gathering at Willis Funeral Home, family and friends are invited to attend a time of refreshments at O.O. McIntyre Park at 3:00 p.m.
