Mary Louise Burger, 79, of Crown City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at her residence. She was the daughter of Frank John Thomas and Clara (Rothgeb) Burger. Mary was a former resident of Xenia, Ohio. She began her career as a nurse at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and then at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia, Ohio where she would later retire after obtaining her RN. Mary was a true servant in every aspect, whether it was giving to someone in need, caring for her patients, or her family; she was a true servant of God and it showed in her daily life. She enjoyed writing poetry, painting, and giving gifts from her heart and bringing joy to all who knew her. Mary is survived by her sister Barbara Daines, Crown City, OH; four nephews whom she considered sons: Paul (Stephanie) Daines, Patriot, OH; John (Mary) Daines, Patriot, OH; Mike (Sherry) Daines, Crown City, OH; Daniel Daines, Xenia, OH; sister-in-law Betty Burger, Hamilton, OH. Also surviving are nephews and nieces whom she held dear: Doug (Pam) Rawlins, Virginia Beach, VA; Don Rawlins, Florida; Debbie Pruitt, Winchester, KY; William “Bill” (Brenda) Burger, Jr., Middleton, OH; Connie (Butch) Davis, Hamilton, OH; Butch, Rick, Garry and Peggy Burger, Omaha, NE; many great nieces and great nephews whom she influenced and encouraged. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lawrence Burger and William “Bill” Burger, one sister Ann (Burger) Rawlins, brother-in-law Martin “Marty” Daines and great niece Monica Daines. Services will be 8:30 p.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Friends may call from 6:30– 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2012 at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.
