Maude Ellen Crump Crews, 79, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her residence. She was born September 17, 1933 in Mason County, West Virginia, daughter of the late George Virgil and Audrey Watson Crump. Maude was married to Basil “Pete” Crews on July 2, 1966 in Patriot, Ohio and he survives her. She was a former owner and cook of the Highway Inn and retired from Rockwell Automation. Maude was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pt. Pleasant, WV and attended Patriot United Methodist Church when she was able. She enjoyed traveling and her grandkids. Surviving are her husband Basil “Pete” Crews of Centerville; one son, Pete Crews (Chloeanna Pearson) of Patriot; two grandchildren, Stormie Crews of Gallipolis and Braxton Crews of Patriot; two step grandsons, Caleb and Chayce Pearson of Patriot; three sisters, Betty Jo Wamsley of Pt. Pleasant, WV, Gloria Ann Krentcher of New Palestine, Indiana, and Susan Lynn (Charles) Bledsoe of Michigan; mother-in-law, Laura Crews of Centerville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda (Bob) Terry of Centerville; sister-in-law, Alice Holcomb of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maude was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Bob Crump; one sister, Mary Lou Reynolds; and a stepsister, Bessie Watson. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Patriot Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 4, 2013 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Maude’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
