Maxine Mooney Campbell, 87, of Gallipolis - In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 22, 2011, the Lord took our precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Maxine Campbell home to be with him. She was born January 10, 1924 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Roy and Lenore Blazer Mooney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on July 12, 2003 by her husband of 62 years, William (Jack) Campbell Sr.; two children, Josephine and Joseph Campbell, which both died shortly after birth; a grandson, Joshua William McKean; a great granddaughter Erica Nicole Gables; and a brother and four sisters. Maxine was a homemaker. She was the secretary for the Blazer Family Reunion for many years and a former central committee woman for the Gallia County Democratic Party. In her passing, she leaves behind a son, William J. Jack (Mary) Campbell Jr. of Gallipolis; two daughters, Judy (Rich) Davis Haggerty and Joyce (Jim) McKean Walton, both of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who celebrated life every day. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Colin McKean, John McKean, Coby Davis, Cole Haggerty, Coe Haggerty, Chase Setzer, and Shawn Stevens, who was also a special care taker. Honorary pallbearers will be Creed Setzer, Campbell Setzer and Richard Pete Roush.
