Michelle Marie “Shelly” Sims, 45, of Gallipolis passed away on October 31, 2019 in the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. Born on May 22, 1974 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Shelly was the daughter of James L. and Linda Starcher Sims, who survive her in Gallipolis. She graduated from Gallia Christian School and attended Vinton Baptist Church. Shelly is survived by her sons, Christopher David Copley of Gallipolis and John Zachariah “Zack” Harkins (Gloria Manygoats) of Gallipolis; grandson, Mason Copley of Palm Springs, California; granddaughter, Laure McDonald of Palm Springs, California; parents, James L. and Linda Sims of Gallipolis; brother, James “Andy” (Angie) Sims; nephews, Quentin Sims and Andrew Sims; nieces, Skyla Stanton, Gracie Sims, and a special niece who was close to Shelly, Zoe Sims; aunts and uncles, Tommy and Patty Sims of Camden, Ohio, Brenda Sims of Gallipolis, Roger Warren of Gallipolis, Archie and Lora Starcher of Maryville, Tennessee, Penny Starcher of Maryville, Tennessee, and a special Aunt Nina and Uncle Darres of Maryville, Tennessee; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. Shelly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Archie A. and Joy Walker Starcher and James V. and Clara Ann Smith Sims. A Memorial Service will be held for Shelly at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Vinton Baptist Church with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating.
