Mildred R. Miller

Mildred R. Miller, 83, of Patriot, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at her residence. She was born September 6, 1924 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Jehue B. and Thersa Skaggs Jackson. Mildred was married to William Bart Miller on May 22, 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1983. She was a custodian for Southwestern Local School District where she retired in 1990. Surviving are five daughters, Dottie Pete White of Franklin Furnace, Sally Wayne Caulley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Donna Wayne Skaggs of Bonne Terre, Missouri., Kathy Clay Mitchell of South Point, and Shelia Jim Ross of Patriot; three sons, Gerald Wayne Miller, Michael Miller and Jeff Paula Miller, all of Patriot; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three sisters, Myrtle Thornton and Goldie Quimby, both of Gallipolis and Helen Dailey of Patriot. Mildred was preceded by her parents, her husband, William Bart Miller, grandson, William E. 'Bill' Stephens, four brothers, Floyd, Bill, Johnnie and Charlie Jackson, four sisters, Mattie Ehrhart, Hazel Williams, Elsie Baker and Bessie Leaverton. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Willis Funeral Home with Bob Powell and Pastor Dan Lamphier officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 5-9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Doug Miller, Jonathon Ross, J.D. Miller, Keith Stepp, Henry Myers and Nolan Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Pope, Lawrence Shepherd, Mikie Miller, Ervin Roach and Wayne Miller.
