Mildred E. Smith

Mildred E. Smith, 82, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. She was born July 29, 1929 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, daughter of the late George and Lula Mitchell Evans. She was married to Harry Smith Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1984. Mildred will be sadly missed by her children and all of her family. Surviving are her children, Janet L. Brown, Glenn David Smith and Rickey Alan Smith, all of Gallipolis; 8 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; a sister, Eva (Bill) Cravey of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harry Smith Jr., sisters, Thelma Jackson, Myrtle Mink Hager, Virginia Candle, and Verna Blazer, brothers, Elba Evans, Eli Evans, Elliott Evans and Arthur Evans in infancy. Services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 5-7 p.m.
