Mildred 'Millie' Westphal

Mildred “Millie” Westphal, 97, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Holzer Senior Care Center. Millie was born September 3, 1915 in Leon, West Virginia, daughter of the late Steril and Ora Wolfe Walker. She married Harold Westphal and he preceded her in death in 2002. Millie was a dress designer for Huntington Industries. She resided in Chicago for 60 years. Surviving are one sister, Mary Workman of Gallipolis; a sister-in-law Ruth Walker of Richmond, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; a special pet dog Jodie. In addition to her parents and husband, Harold Westphal, Millie was preceded in death by three brothers – Maurice “Shorty” Walker, Charles Walker, Dallas Walker, infant brothers – Lee, Hubert and Warren Walker, a baby sister Martha Walker, and two sisters-in-law – Coral Walker and Dorothy “Dot” Walker. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Letart Evergreen Cemetery, Letart, West Virginia. There will be no calling hours. Willis Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. There will be no visitation.
