Milton Judson Plantz

Milton Judson “Joe” Plantz, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2020 at the home of his daughter. Joe was born on March 29, 1938 in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, son of the late Basil and Belva Wallace Plantz. Joe retired from the AKZO Nobel Chemical Plant; he was a member of Millstone Church in Apple Grove, West Virginia and a graduate of Pt. Pleasant High School. Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and he enjoyed his family and going to church. He was married to Shirley Smith Plantz; and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2002. Joe is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Ed) Moore, Tonya Sinclair, and Debbie (Irvin) Saunders all of Gallipolis; one son Michael (Anna) Plantz of Charleston, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Moore (Wade Bing) of Gallipolis, Taylor (Brian) Curnutte of Gallipolis, Brianna (Brandon) White of Falls Church, Virginia, Megan Sinclair (Terry Edens) of Pt. Pleasant, Jenna (Jon) Akers and Hannah (Josh) Tucker both of Dawsonville, Georgia; three great granddaughters and one on the way, Autumn Bing, Kinleigh Edens, and Nora White; two sisters, Lois Northup of Troy, Ohio and Mary (Carl) Maxon of Patriot, Ohio; three brothers, Dial Plantz of Troy, Linden Plantz of Jackson Center, Ohio, and Basil Plantz of Branson, Missouri; sister-in-law Nancy Plantz of Troy, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife Shirley, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Jr. Plantz and Earl Berkley Plantz. The funeral service for Joe will held 11 a.m. on Wednesda, December 30, 2020 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Dabney and Bob Smith officiating. His burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to follow the CDC guidelines and the Ohio mandate of social distancing and wearing face masks.
