Myrl Otto Bailey

Mr. Myrl Otto Bailey, 97, of Gallipolis, formerly of Muskingum County, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, early Thursday morning, April 9, 2009 at the Holzer Medical Center. Born June 11, 1911 in Muskingum County, Ohio to the late George and Dora Bailey, Myrl was a farmer for most of his life. He also worked several years at A & P Grocery Store in Dayton, Ohio. After his employment there, he returned to Muskingum County to work at David Davies Meat Packing Plant. Myrl was township trustee in Meigs Township in Muskingum County for 16 years. He was also a member of the High Hill Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife, Francis Bailey, whom he married May 2, 1945. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Linda Bailey, his parents, George and Dora Bailey, two sisters, Marie Niswonger and Mable Gillispie and two brothers, Joe Bailey and Lester Bailey. Myrl is survived by one son, Richard Cindy Lucas Bailey; two grandchildren, Andrea Bailey and Nick Bailey; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Judy Lyons; and a niece, Bobbie Ann Kinney. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home.
