Nicholas S. Blank

Nicholas S. Blank, 58, of Windsor, Ohio died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born on May 22, 1953 in Syracuse, NY, son of John M. and Mildred (Thevenin) Blank. Nicholas received his Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Chemistry and a minor in Russian studies at the Ohio State University. He was a chemist at Brush Wellman in Walton Hills and also a Russian Translator. Nicholas was a member of the St. Lucys Catholic Church in Middlefield, Ohio. He enjoyed being with family; all sports, and was an avid Indians and Browns fan. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family; his mother Mildred Blank of Windsor, sisters Suzanne (Vee) Narayan of Arden Hills, MN, Melanie (Mark) Rettman of Springfield, MO, and Mary (Jim) Szekely of Vermillion, OH; his nieces and nephews, Noreen Krachko, Carolyn Mahan, Jeffrey Rettman, Gabriel Ananea, and Anthony Ananea. He was preceded in death by his father, John Blank in 2000. Services will be 1 pm Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery with Father Thomas Hamm officiating. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 am until the time of services.
