Nora B. Corbin

Nora B. Corbin, 79, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. She was born January 27, 1932 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Stacy and Nellie Halfhill Baird. Nora was married to Oscar J. Corbin and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2003. She was a 1950 graduate of Bidwell Porter High School and was a former Ohio Bell telephone operator and homemaker. Nora was a member of Campaign Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Randy (Lisa) Corbin of Bidwell, Ron (Terri) Corbin of Gallipolis, and Rick (Loretta) Corbin of Gallipolis; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter; four stepchildren; two sisters Grace Cheney of Gallipolis and Ann Ryther of Pomeroy; and several nieces and nephews. Nora was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Oscar J. Corbin, one brother Charles Baird, three sisters Sylvia Mayes, Mary Baird and Stella Lane. Graveside services will be 1:15 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home from 12-1 p.m., Saturday prior to the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Wesley Corbin, Casey Corbin, Ritchie Corbin, Daniel Corbin and Jimmy Jones.
