Penny Kay (Long) Haner, age 67, of Gallipolis, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born November 10, 1945 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of Mary K. (Waugh) Long and the late Grover C. Long. She was a 1963 graduate of Gallia Academy High School and then attended Huntington Business College. She was employed by Norris Northup Dodge for 38 years. She attended the First Church of God where she was involved in many church activities. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marlyn Haner; children, Steve (Sally) Haner, Mark (Hollie) Haner, Gail (Stephen) Roush; her mother, Mary K. Long; two sisters, Edith (Mike) Stout and Denise (Mike) Null; six grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Cory, Courtney, Curtis Haner and James Roush. She was preceded in death by her father Grover Long and her brother Richard Long. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at the First Church of God on State Route 141 with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery at Mercerville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the First Church of God. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Cory, Curtis Haner and James Roush. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Northup, Pete Summerville, and Jack Baisden.
