Philip R. Spear

Philip R. Spear, 62, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born June 6, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Robert L. and Ruth L. Taylor Spear. Philip was a retired software analyst from the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Texas. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the VFW #4464 and the Patriot Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his brother, Gregg A. Spear Loretta Atha of Gallipolis and his sister, Roberta Lynn Donald Brown of Kewanee, Illinois; two nieces and two nephews; one great niece and one great nephew. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2010 at Bethesda Church with Pastor Dan Lamphier officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. at the church prior to the service. There will be full military services by volunteers of area veteran's lodges.
