Ralph Buzz Holbrook

Ralph 'Buzz' Holbrook, 77, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on June 1, 2008 in his home. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ, a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War in the 101st Airborn Division, and was a member of the Huntington Teamster's local 505. Ralph was a retired ceramic tile maker at Carlisle Structural Stoneware and a full time farmer in Gallia County, Ohio. He was also a fire warden and truck driver for Walnut Township. He was born on June 25, 1930 in Kitchen, Ohio Jackson County; son of the late Avery and Ora Hillman Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith Faye Arthur Holbrook on April 5, 2003, and by five brothers and by two sisters. He is survived by his present wife Glenna Elkins Holbrook of Patriot; one daughter Debra Mark Johnson, Sr., and one son Anthony Tonya Holbrook both of Patriot; a step-son Stephen McCormick of Patriot, two granddaughters Katherine Adam Brewer and Melissa Judd Swindler, three grandsons, Alex Larrick, Curtis Holbrook, and Mark Christie Johnson, Jr., and four great grandchildren. Services will be 1 pm Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Adam Brewer, Tony Holbrook, Curtis Holbrook, Steve McCormick, Brad Thomas, Stanley Jones, Aaron Jones, Steve Shaffer and Mike Shaffer. There will be full military rites at the graveside by volunteers of area veteran lodges.
