Randell Scott Adkins, 55, of Middleport, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Holzer Medical Center. Randy was born on December 22, 1955 in Huntington, WV to Oliver W. and Lula Mae (Dudy) Adkins who both survive in Gallipolis, Ohio. Randy was a 1973 graduate of Gallia Academy High School and a 1977 graduate of Rio Grande College with a BS Degree. At RGC he was active in the Alpha Delta Epsilon Fraternity. He was employed in the family automobile business (Adkins Auto Sales) and later at the AEP Gavin Power Plant. Randy enjoyed sports and was an avid Browns and Buckeyes fan. Randy was married to Teresa A. (Harris) Adkins on August 12, 2006 in Gallipolis, and she survives. He is also survived by his children Elizabeth (Matt) Shope of Palm Beach, FL, and Christopher Adkins of Middleport. He has one grandchild, Jacob Shope who was his joy. Randy was stepfather to Jason, Jerome (Kate), and Jordan McIntrye. Also surviving are a brother Ronald Adkins and a sister Tina (David) Russell both of Gallipolis; Mother-in-law: Rena Harris of Loganville, Georgia, sisters-in-law Lori Harris of Dowagiac, MI and Dawn (Bobby) Howard of Cassopolis, MI, nieces and nephews include Sarah (Kyle) Deel, Kari (Michael) Anderson, Andrea (Jason) Jarvis, Tyler Adkins, Lauren Harris, Macy Howard, and Andrew Howard, two great nephews Logan and Lane Deel. A Memorial Service will be 11 am Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Rio Grande. Friends may call on Wednesday September 28, 2011 from 4-7 pm at Willis Funeral Home.
