Raymond Lee Schrock, 76, of Thurman, Ohio, formerly of Jesup, Georgia, passed away on May 13, 2012 at the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. After several weeks of not feeling well he went to be with His Redeemer after his heart finally gave out. He was born July 21, 1935 in Topeka, Indiana and lived to be 69 days short of his 77th birthday. Raymond is survived by his wife of 58 years, Esther Edna of Thurman, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Mary (Schlabach) Schrock, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by 2 sisters, Ella Yoder of LaGrange, Indiana and Fannie Lambright of Topeka, Indiana and 1 brother, Ammon of Sarasota, Florida. In addition to his wife he is survived by their 5 children, Norman (Kathleen) Schrock of Patriot, Ohio, Ruth (Jonas) Stoltzfus of Millington, Maryland, Marvin (Hannah) Schrock of Cambridge, Ohio, Martha (Ben) Surrency of Jesup, Georgia, Carolyn (Jason) Miller of Cambridge, Ohio. They have 12 grandchildren and 11 living great grandchildren. Tyler Miller, a great grandson, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Valley View Mennonite Church, Patriot, Ohio. In his “retired” years he was a sales person at Schrock’s Home Furnishings, Rio Grande, Ohio. The visitation and funeral will be at Faith Baptist Church, Rodney, Ohio. The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. He will be buried at Valley View Mennonite Church, Patriot, Ohio.
