Raymond Paul Thompson Uncle Bob, 73, of Gallipolis, passed away on December 27, 2007 in his sleep at his home after a long illness. He was born on October 9, 1934 at Ona, West Virginia, son of the late Burley and Maudie Hughes Thompson. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He was a Navy Seal in the Korean War and was the President of the Kanauga Sportsmen Club. He was survived and loved by a special friend, Cissy Conley and daughter, Jayla, who they raised together; two daughters, Darlene Saunders and Nancy Paul Higginbotham, both of Gallipolis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard “Dick” Marylou Thompson, Bill Imogene Thompson, and Buddy Carolyn Thompson, all of Ona, West Virginia; and one sister, Judy Lawhon of Glenwood. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, were a son, Richard Paul Thompson, a brother, Jerry Thompson, and a sister, JoAnn Jeffers. Services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Denver Hill officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. He will be sadly missed by all.
