Richard D. Halley

Richard D. Halley, 78, of Patriot, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 27 at the Emogene Dolens Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born February 5, 1935, in Kanauga, Ohio, son of the late John and Florence Henry Halley. Richard worked as a guard, taxi driver and truck driver in New York City until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith. Richard is survived by his loving companion and caregiver, Ella Mae Henry of Patriot, Ohio, where he came home to live out his last years; close nieces and nephews, Veronica Woods of Patriot, Randy and Kathy Henry of Pomeroy, Don and Wanda Henry of Virginia, Jennie Henry of Gallipolis, Jack and Bonnie Stegall of Gallipolis, Patty Bloom and family of New Mexico, Larry and Marilyn Defalco and family of New York; along with several other family members. Richard loved his family. Last, but not least “Mildred the Cat”. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Marjorie, brothers Charles Halley, Elmer Halley, Ray Halley and Robert Henry Sr., sisters Helen, Pauline, Bonnie, Thelma plus others. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
