Robert D. “Bob” Harrison, 78, of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born June 30, 1932 in Gallipolis, son of the late Robert E. and Belva D. Lemly Harrison. Bob was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School with the class of 1950 and was a Korean Conflict Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Cliffside Golf Club, Morning Dawn Lodge #7, Masonic Lodge the Pt. Pleasant Moose Lodge #731, and Meigs DAV #53. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. Surviving are his daughter, Twila Brown of Virginia; two sons, Terry Andrea Harrison of New York and Trent Leda Harrison of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Brandon Cassie Harrison of Jackson, Olivia Harrison of Gallipolis, Emily Brown and Austin Brown of Virginia; one great grandson Harley Harrison; one sister, Peggy Gillespie of Columbus, one brother, James Bea Harrison of Tamarac, Florida and a sister-in-law Mary Lou Harrison of Gallipolis; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Pat Burton of Virginia. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Irene Thivener, Louise Wells, Freda Fitch, Corrine Harrison and Iris Cox, brothers Lawrence, Marion “Jack”, Paul “Chub” and Carl Harrison. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev.Ron Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. There will be full military services by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges.
