Robert Allen Wood

Robert Allen Wood, 56, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Adena Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born July 21, 1957 in Portsmouth, son of the late Harland Sidney Wood and Juanita Ice Wood, who survives him. Robert was married to Christy Lynn Myers and she survives him. He was the manager for RentWay several years back and then decided to follow his dream to be a truck driver. He loved sitting on his porch swing, early in the day . . . coffee in hand, watching the world come alive. He also enjoyed being behind the wheel of a vehicle, whether his semi truck or antique truck, it didn’t matter. He especially liked to go to antique car shows. “Woody”, as his friends called him, led a full life with many adventures! Surviving are his wife, Christy Myers-Wood of Jackson; four children, Jacob Nevin Wood of Mansfield, Ohio, Nathen Eugene Wood, Rachael Wood, and Kelsi Wood Butts, all of London, Ohio; one grandson, David Alexander Wood; a sister Mary E. Wood Guy of Gallipolis; and many extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Workman officiating.
