Roberta Van Gundy

Roberta Van Gundy, 73, of Gallipolis, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky after a courageous battle with cancer. Roberta was born on February 7, 1937, in Alpharetta, Kentucky, daughter of the late Paul M. Fugitt and Pauline Fugitt. She was employed as an Office Manager for Middleton Estates until retiring in 2007. Surviving are two sons, Rick Shari Van Gundy of Gallipolis and Warrant Officer One Rob Anna Van Gundy, serving in the United States Army; and her granddaughter, Jade Van Gundy of Englewood, Colorado. Also surviving are siblings Robert Ida Fugitt, Ashland, Kentucky; Virginia Hylton, Louisa, Kentucky; Frances Hawk Damron, Grove City, Ohio; Glen Nancy Fugitt, Hazard, Kentucky and Estellene Ray Webb, Ashland, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul Jackson Fugitt, William Ray Fugitt, Wendell Phillip Fugitt, Larry Fugitt and sister, Katherine Irene Pigg. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Mark Killen officiating. Burial will follow at Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 19, 2010 beginning at 12:30 until the time of services.
