Roger S. Glassburn, 74, of Bidwell, Ohio died on Friday, March 29, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on August 2, 1944 in Gallia County, Ohio son of the late Stanley and Gladys Lane Glassburn. Roger was a retired butcher having owned and operated R & C Packing in Bidwell, Ohio. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for several years. Roger was active in the Gallia County Junior Fair and was a member and past president of the River Valley FFA Alumni. Roger was a Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran. In 1982 he married Carol Stumbo Glassburn and she survives him, along with kids, Jackie (Brandi) Glassburn of Gallipolis, Shawn (Lisa) Easthom of Ironton, Rodney Shane (Kim) Glassburn, of Brazil, Indiana, Shane (Tina) Easthom, of Proctorville, Ohio, Gregory Glassburn of Greencastle, Indiana, and Shannon (Eric) Jones of Cheshire, Ohio; grandkids, Jackie Glassburn, Josh Glassburn, Katy Glassburn, Jackson Bevins, Reid Glassburn, Emmy Glassburn, Jessica Easthom, Brittany Clark, Tyler Easthom, Brooke Kelley, Jacob Easthom, Brady Easthom, Kayla Myers, Kelsey Glassburn, Jase Glassburn, Kassidy Glassburn, Lacey Easthom, Beth Cyrus, Matthew Cyrus, Rylan Lucas, Rance Glassburn, Mariah Hill, Garett Jones, Weston Jones and Mahaylah Jones; several great grandchildren; sisters Lola (Fred) Martin and Jeannie (Bill) Tullis and brothers Charles T. (Barbara) Glassburn and Marty (Rhonda) Glassburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Christopher D. Glassburn in 1994 and his siblings Earl Glassburn, Ginny Boldman, Mary Smith, Libby Messick and Donald Glassburn. The funeral service for Roger will be 1 pm Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the White Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Ward officiating with his burial following in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
