Roland Dovenbarger

Roland Dovenbarger, 75, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center. He was born on July 6, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio, son of the late Clayton H. and Virginia Watson Dovenbarger. Roland worked very hard to take care of his family. He enjoyed his family, hunting, and working in his garden. Roland married Edna Walters Dovenbarger on April 5, 1981; and she survives him along with his children: two sons, Mark Dovenbarger (Tracy Tedford) of Gallipolis and Roland "Bub" (Cindy) Dovenbarger of Vinton, Ohio and six daughters, Rhonda (Howard) Jaques of Gallipolis, Staci (Zach) Hampton of Gallipolis, Amanda (Mike) Walker of Gallipolis, Candy Neal-Dovenbarger of Gallipolis, Regina (Rick) Wills of Wellston, Ohio, and Rebecca Dovenbarger of Gallipolis; two grandchildren reared in his home, Noah and Hayleigh Dovenbarger; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Dovenbarger of Zanesville, Ohio; and two sisters, Beverly (John) Dillon and Barbara Morgan both of Hermitage, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by a grandchild and by a brother, James Dovenbarger. A memorial service for Roland will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Gallipolis Fire Station on Chestnut Street with Pastor Truman Johnson and Larry Long officiating.
