Roy Edwin Lemley

Roy Edwin Lemley, 85, of Vinton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Holzer Senior Care in Gallipolis. He was a retired salesman for Thomas Industries in Louisville, KY and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran. Roy attended Harris Baptist Church, and was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He was born on April 19, 1923 in Cheshire to the late Omar Carl Lemley and Stella Mae Swisher Denney. Roy was married to Anna Elizabeth Darst Lemley for 61 years, and she preceded him in death in 2004. Roy is survived by two sons, Michael J. Joann Lemley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Donald J. Lemley of Salem, Ohio; a grandson Christian Lemley of Jenks, Oklahoma; one sister Inez Mark Hammond of Little River, Florida. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Isabelle DeLashmut and Sonja Campbell. Services will be 11 am Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home, with burial following in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Pastor Rick Barcus will officiate. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6-8 pm. Full military rites will be given at the cemetery by volunteers of area veteran lodges.
