Ruby Bowen Maynard

Ruby Bowen Maynard, 63, of Patriot, Ohio, formerly of Sheffield Twp, Lorain, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. Ruby was born on July 14, 1948 to the late Verna and Rosavelt Bowen in Martin County, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Lowe, Grandsons, Gabriel Todd and Andrew Barker, and a sister Barb Porter. She is survived by three daughters Charlin Maynard (Chris Garrrett) of Patriot, Joanne and Pamela Maynard of Lorain, Ohio, one son Earnest Phillips of Sheffield, Twp., grandchildren Teddy and Jack Barker of Patriot, Douglas Barker of Sheffield Twp., Corey and Jimmy Phillips of Sheffield, Twp., Jessica and Cory Maynard of Lorain, Carrie Maynard and Ronni Lynn Hackney, of Columbia, SC, Apryl Burggess and Jeffery and Morgan Saunders of Louisville, KY; 11 great grandchildren, two sisters Ellen (Ellis) Lowe of Paintsville, KY, and Rose Mary (Jim) Fitch of Martin County, KY, and a host of other family members and friends. Ruby loved to cook, deer hunt and walk in the woods looking for mushrooms and ginseng. She loved stopping by flea markets and yard sales. She was an active member of the Greenfield Twp. VFD women Auxiliary and all the firefighters were considered part of the extended family. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Gallia Baptist Church with James Ellison and David Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday after 2 pm at the Greenfield Twp Volunteer Fire Department and all day Tuesday at the fire department. The Greenfield Twp Fire Department Honor Guard will honor Ruby Monday and Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm. Willis Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
